A cross pattee constructed of gilt bronze, with white enameled arms; the obverse with a central gilded medallion, inscribed Fr Verdienst im Kriegsvereinswesen (German For Merit in the War Veterans Association ); the reverse plain, with a vertical banjo style pinback, a sheet metal hinge, and a round wire catch; marked Timm Berlin on the reverse; measuring 44. 02 mm (w) x 44.
