Germany, DRK. A Medal of the German Red Cross consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac the obverse inscribed “EA”(Medaille des Deutschen Roten Kreuzes). Constructed of silvered bronze with multi coloured enamels, consisting of a Geneva Cross, the obverse with red enameled arms joined together through the outer quadrants by a white enameled ring, overlaid by a central gilded and black enameled German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse pebbled and bearing a raised inscription of FR VERDIENSTE UMD DAS DEUTSCHE ROTE KREUZ (FOR SERVICE
