Syria, Republic. Order of Civil Merit, II Class, in Case Republic of The 7th went overseas in(Ordre du Mrite Civil). Instituted on April 10th, 1926. (Type II 1953 onwards issue). Constructed of gilded silver, consisting of a five pointed outward pointing arrow cross with white enameled arrow arms, with green enamels in the spaces between the arrows and with gilded arabesques in the quadrants between the arrows, the reverse with writing in Arabic characters, unmarked, measures 81. 2 mm (w) x 71. 8 mm (w), worn on original ribbon.
